SERENA WILLIAMS WORE A RED GOWN AT THE WIMBLEDON CHAMPIONS DINNER.
When you’re Serena Williams, one of the greatest athletes of all time, you pack a gown — just in case you happen to score an invite to the winners’ dinner. The tennis legend, who secured her 22nd Grand Slam title on Saturday after defeating Angelique Kerber 7-5, 6-3, was prepared with a red dress to attend the Wimbledon Champions Dinner at Guildhall in London.
Williams, 34, opted for an eye-catching bright red chiffon skirt and jewel-encrusted top. The front featured a keyhole cutout and halter straps, which crisscrossed in the back.
And even though the red carpet is typically a place where high heels are generally required for women, Williams bucked tradition and opted for sandals instead. The comfortable footwear was well deserved after she won not just the singles tournament but also the doubles with her sister, Venus.
After the formal event, Serena slipped into something a bit more casual to let loose at an after party. She wore a black jumpsuit that revealed her black bra and stuck with the same white T-strap sandals.
Following her historic win, Williams admitted, “One thing I learned about last year is to enjoy the moment … I’m definitely going to enjoy this.” Looks like it!
