To break social norms and to prove that inclusivity is powerful, Curvy Kate has launched a new lingerie campaign featuring women of all different shapes, sizes, colors, and backgrounds. The campaign is called #TheNewSexy and features the company's latest collection: Scantilly.

In light of the body positivity movement, the fashion industry has been under a lot of scrutiny for their lack of diversity. And rightfully so. A report by The Fashion Spot found that out of the 422 models involved in big-brand Spring/Summer 2016 fashion campaigns, only 21.8% were of color, 1.4% were above a size 12 and absolutely no transgender models were included.

But #TheNewSexy aims to put a dent in this trend by featuring everyday women with inspirational stories. Therese Hansson, for instance, is a plus-size model who has suffered from Alopecia Areata, a hair loss condition causing her to go bald. "I hid my condition for years but if I could tell myself how happy and confident I am now with being bald then I would," she tells Curvy Kate.

Megan Jayne Crabbe, on the other hand, is a former anorexic whose finally learned to love her body for what it is. "I spent a long time believing that feeling confident or sexy was reserved for people with the 'perfect' body, and that the rest of us didn't deserve it," she says. "It takes a hell of a lot to take yourself out of that mindset and recognize and see yourself in another way. I'm proud of myself for doing that and showing others that they are able to do it, too."

Another model, Taylor Crisp, was diagnosed with FFU syndrome at birth—a disease that affects the development of joints. Now, even though she wears a prosthetic leg, her confidence in the campaign shot is exhilarating. "The new sexy is having self-love and always embracing what you've got," she says.

Five other powerful leading ladies are featured in this campaign—each one's story more moving than the next. Scantilly is Curvy Kate's third collection and will hit retail stores this month. The lingerie will be available in sizes DD-HH cups and S-XL.
